There are critical reviews of the XL-1 and VX-2000 (similar
to the PD150A in most respects) on my web page, at:

Short review: Best picture: VX-2000/PD150A; best sound
and sound versatility: maybe a toss-up, both were excellent,
though I lean toward the XL-1 for sound (but the XL-1
lens controls were insufferable, and the picture
annoyingly oversharpened [and even so, less sharp-looking
than the VX-2000/PD150A - and the AF and AE were also
problematic in the two I tried...]).
