Well (and objectively) summed up - and I came to
essentially the same conclusion in my review of
the XL-1 about two years ago (comparing it with
the VX1000 at the time, and with the VX2000/PD150
added later) - yet I still get "flack" from the
XL-1 owners who don't want this to be true (get
ready to duck...!;-). See:

It seems so patently obvious that it bugs me to
feel the need to say this, but it really doesn't
matter what camera anyone buys or likes. It does
bug me, though, when people cannot/do-not look
objectively at gear. Denying the limitations/advantages
of gear (mine or others') is obviously silly, and
indicates an unwillingness to "know your tools",
essential for best use of them...
