This just doesn't hold water...;-)
Have you ever compared the images side-by-side
of things shot side-by-side with the two cameras?
If so, how do you account for the better resolution
of the Sony image? Better lens? Better CCDs? Better
signal-processing? It is rather hard, without specific
lens faults to point at (and there are mighty few
in the lens used in the VX-2000/PD-150...), to
isolate the lens part of the imaging system and to
make the statement you made above...;-) With the
XL-1, you can compare lenses that fit it, but
you cannot compare a fixed lens on another camcorder
with one on the XL-1, short obvious faults. And when
the result of comparison is that the Sony image is
sharper, your statement becomes untenable...
