Both are reviewed (VX-2000 is similar to PD150...) at:
www.David-Ruether-Photography.com/camcorder-comparison.htm
The Sony has many advantages over the XL-1 in terms
of image quality, low-light ability, manual-control
useability, auto-control useability, battery-life,
etc.... If you MUST have lens interchangeability,
sorta-1/60th PS-mode, or the "look", choose the
XL-1 - but for most shooting, choose the PD150...
BTW, why not consider the similar VX-2000, since
it allows 1.5-hour recordings, and is nearly a
$1000 cheaper (and it takes the same batteries as
your TRV-900, and the color balance is close enough
to your TRV-900 that they can be mixed in a two-camera
shoot) - or, why is the TRV-900 you already have not
good enough for your intended purpose...?;-)
