WA converters come in two "flavors": "zoom-through"
and not; ZT-types do allow full-range zooming when
well-matched to the camcorder lens (though they
may sometimes soften slightly just short of the
long end of the zoom range...); non-ZT types
often allow a short zomming range before infinity
focus is lost. A good non-ZT converter I've found
(that is also compatible with a wide range of
camcorder lenses) is the cheap/light/small Sony
VCL-ES06 .6X, useable on 30-58mm threaded lens
fronts (with stepping rings).
