I have seen only one instance where a wide-angle conversion lens
gave acceptable results on a lens for 35mm (a particular "no-name"
.42X [the others I have didn't work...] on the Nikkor 28mm f2.8 AIS
at the smallest stop produced a circular image of about 150 degrees
coverage with reasonably good sharpness to the illumination edge).
If you just want to try this, just to see what the wide angle
looks like (or if you like very soft image edges...), these WA
converters are worth a try. BTW, these can work very well on
video cameras - which is what I use them on...
