No, I haven't experience with the TRV-900, but.....;-)
I have used various WA converters on the VX-1000 and the TRV-9.
Good ones to look at are the .6X pancake Sony (not zoom-through,
though), the two .5X Kenko "Pro" variations (the VX-1000 needs the
wider-front one to avoid vignette with its deep-set lens, but the
TRV-900 may be able to use the smaller one, or the Raynox), the
Raynox "Pro" .5X, or various series-VII fisheye attachments.
I find that it is necessary for best edge sharpness and widest
coverage to adjust the lens-to-converter distance by adding
empty filter rings, or by shaving parts (mostly with the
VX-1000...). I wouldn't be without wide-angle capability, and I
have a stack of these things! (The "wide-angle" end of camcorder
zoom ranges is a laugh - rarely wider than a 45mm equivalent lens
on a 35mm still camera...!)
