I prefer using the excellent automatic controls on the
VX2000, but with shifts applied using the custom controls.
BTW, DWB provides the best color for daylight exposures
with this camera, and for exterior shooting, I go to
+1 for sharpness, often +1 for the color balance, 0 for
color level (unless I want extra saturation), and
-1 for AE-bias in the custom controls. For interiors,
I often use AWB, +1 for sharpness, 0 or minus numbers
for color balance, -1 for color level, and 0 for AE-bias
(unless the walls are very light, in which case,
+ numbers are used). I think you will find that using
the auto controls, with modifications applied when
appropriate, will produce the highest percentage of
good footage for you with this camera. Try shooting
both ways, and see for yourself...;-)
