Beach does not have a good reputation...
The VX2000 (US-import) can probably be had from
reputable dealers for about $2350 (BHphotovideo.com,
cameraworld.com) - and accessory prices are lowest
(and real) from these dealers.
The US warranty is only 3-months parts and labor,
one year parts (the labor is the expensive part...;-).
Sony Japan could probably be approached if Sony US
would not repair it (unlikely).
Reputable grey-market sellers generally provide their
own warranty coverage.
Reputable dealers generally exchange/refund during
a short period for defects - and these cameras can
have defects and should be thoroughly checked out
upon arrival (this is the best of all "warranties"...).
