Avoid Tiffen and Sony (relabeled Tiffen?).
Hoya single-coated filters are high-quality,
easy to clean, and relatively inexpensive.
Most useful: UV for protection (only...),
and circular polarizer (not necessary, but
occasionally useful or interesting - the
VX-2000 AE bias and color balance and
saturation can be adjusted in the camera,
making a polarizer unnecessary for general
use...). Useful, also, is a Nikkor no. 2
close-up lens (needs 58->52mm step-down ring),
