The VX-2000 does some weird processing for stills
(video shot in PS-mode, intended only for stills,
looks ***WEIRD***! ;-), but the results are outstanding
and even good enough for small paper prints though only
640x480 - and are better than stills from the TRV900
(there are some stills in the VX2000 review at:

and all the images at: www.nikonlinks.com/ruether
were shot with the VX2000 with the Canon WD-58 WA
lens converter on...). There does not appear to be a
problem with the jpg compression ratio, since jpg
compression effects are minimal at the highest-quality
settings...
