This nonsense persists........
The VX2000 is no noisier than most camcorders
in its class; the noise level should ONLY be
evaluated at the line-out, with normal playback
settings, and with either the built-in mic or a
properly gain-matched external mic; the noise
level is close to inaudible under proper record/play
conditions, though, in common with other camcorders,
the noise level is far from the best that the medium
could provide (holler at ALL manufacturers about ALL
models, not just the Sony VX2000, which is
typical...); the VX2000 picture was so good that
pros had excessive expectations for its sound, also,
not realized in practice, but also not a "problem"
with knowledgeable use...
