Joking, right? ;-)
Actually, I'm not one for "gushy" uncritical praise for
a new acquisition... The VX-2000, like any other piece
of gear, has its good and bad characteristics. Overall,
I would have to rate it the best I've tried so far of
the Mini-DV camcorders, but not without negatives - the
picture (after adjustments with the custom controls...)
is excellent (a tad better than anything else I've seen
in bright light, and FAR better near its low light limit
than anything else I've seen [see my camcorder comparison
for more on other Mini-DV camcorders I've checked out - at:
http://www.David-Ruether-Photography.com/camcorder-comparison.htm]),
and the sound with the built-in mics is also excellent,
though it appears many external mics don't work well
with the AGC, so manual audio-level adjust must be used
with them to avoid frequent AGC limiting - a bother,
but... Altogether, it would be hard to get this camcorder
away from me, and my TRV-900 and VX-1000s are for sale
(though I will miss some of their strong points...).
