Sorry, I have not used XLR adaptors - but I would expect,
since they give you separate level controls for the two
different mics, that it should work well (it allows you to
optimize levels in addition to balancing the two sides).
I prefer using the AGC since it is excellent, and it
protects you from distorting unexpectedly loud sounds.
