There is always a downside...!;-)
I leave it at +1, since the slightly "firmer"
looking texture and detail is worth it, high
contrast edges (like bare tree branches against
sky) still do not show oversharpening effects, and
the picture negative digital artifacts are only
slightly more evident - it is the best compromise
for me, but I like a sharp-looking picture...
Try it, and see... Aim the camera at detailed
subjects while viewing it hooked up with an "S"
cable to a good TV/monitor, and try the various
CP settings, see what you like - then take the
camera out into the "real" world, shoot some tape,
and see if you continue to like the results...
(BTW, I also leave the AE-bias on -1 [I prefer
a richer, sharper picture to one that looks
"bright"], the hue on +1 [unless I'm shooting
AWB in tungsten, where dropping it looks better],
and saturation at +1 for "fun" shooting, 0 for
commercial work).
