No - it will not correct damage already done by
recording peaks clipped... The AGC in the VX-2000
is actually really excellent, maintaining more
dynamic range in the audio than other compressors
in camcorders, with fewer ill effects (like pumping,
and too-loud low-ambient noise levels).
Just switch in the AGC on the VX-2000 next time,
and relax...;-) Though I find a mic pad useful
with external mics when using the VX-2000 AGC...
