Let's see...
Lotsa people on these groups own VX-2000s, yet don't report
"hiss" problems (that are obviously camera-caused...), and
various explanations are provided to cover the presence
(and avoidance) of a "hiss problem", if discovered - yet
you want to know that the problem has been "fixed"..., or
what serial-numbered cameras have the "problem"...?
(And you also want, I assume, to know why Sony refuses to
"fix" this [non-existent] "problem"...?)
Hmmm.......;-)
Here's a simple solution: buy a VX-2000 only from a dealer
with a good return policy, and if the dreaded "hiss problem"
is present (and attempts at better understanding audio
set-ups fail...;-), simply return the camera for exchange
or refund... Easy!
But, once again, THERE IS NO "HISS" PROBLEM!
You are simply extending the life of a silly rumor that
hurts the reputation of the best compact Mini-DV camera
out there by continuing these posts. If you find a "hiss
problem", report that - but otherwise multiple posts
about this does not help...
