Dropping the shutter speed to 1/15th gains two stops - though there
is some sharpness loss, and fast-moving objects may not look good.
Sometimes just going to 1/30th is sufficient to bring up the
color quality. I sometimes boost the color saturation in the custom
controls, along with a few other tweaks. Staying in the brightest-lit
areas of a low-light site helps...;-) When all else fails, I add a
small video light for fill in close-in work (I prefer available-light,
little as there may be, to the look of video-light illumination, but
adding a little fill light can help...). 'Course, yuh kin allus
dee-mand thet th' client turn up them thar lytz! ("Photography"
means "the recording of light", and if there isn't any light.....;-)
