They are about the same size/weight (though I do find the
VX-2000 a tad more awkward to handle...). The VX-1000 is
an excellent camera - better, I think, in picture quality
than any of the Mini-DV competition that came later, with
two exceptions: the VX-2000 and JVC-500... Try the VX-2000,
and you will be sold - and will put up with most any of
its many quirks willingly...! ;-)
