All the better Sony Mini-DV VFs are rated at 180k
pixels, though the useability varies with the model.
My favorite: the VX-1000 VF, with nice, large eyepiece
and large-looking image (and the color can be dialed out
for a slightly easier to focus B&W image); my least
favorite: the TRV-900 VF, which looks small and is
hard to see in some lighting conditions. The VX-2000
VF is easier to see (especially when using the supplied
giant eyecup) than the TRV-900 VF, making it easier
to use for focus and framing, but its resolution
is no higher.
