The negative actually has more on it than shows in most viewfinders, but
most printers crop some of the negative image, and the cropping is generally not perfectly centered (your printer may have a bias for cropping more from
the bottom of the frame....). (Some of us like the near-100% coverage of
the Nikon "F" series pro cameras [and a VERY few others....), combined with careful custom printing for exact composition control....) This does not
remove the possibility of an off-center (or rotated) camera VF mask - I
have seen this, but generally the negative shows everything that is seen
in the VF (it is just not centered).
