Velvia is available from the large mail-order places at reasonable prices, is actually 40 ASA, though that can change with the
predominant color (I rate it as high as 64 with green), which brings
us to its other quirks: relatively high contrast and very saturated
(and not always "realistic") colors. It is very sharp and fine-grained (similar to Kodachrome 25 in those characteristics, but with a VERY different "look"). When the subject is appropriate for Velvia, the
results can be quite wonderful. When the subject and lighting are
not appropriate, UGH!
