Ummm, good (colorless, optically flat, thin-rimmed, coated) UV
filters have NO effect on the image, good or bad, and serve ONLY
for lens protection! Virtually all lenses we are likely to use absorb
virtually all the UV that we are likely to encounter in photography,
so there is NO further filtering (for practical purposes) accomplished
by using a UV filter....
(Sorry for the emphases, but this comes up SO often...;-)
