Tri-X in Acufine at 800-1000 (with attention to temperatures of
ALL fluids, including water, and not over-developing) provides
good quality negatives (I prefer Tri-X in D-76 at 400 for higher
quality). Avoid Mic-X like the plague, unless you are into speed
loss and gooey looking grain, IMO. If you can stand the unusual
tonal scale, TMZ at 800 in D-76 is rather nice. (This may be
the wrong newsgroup for this discussion, though it is good to
be reminded once in a while that there is fun to be had in the
darkroom [I am trying to convince myself of that.....].)
