I had a Rollei 35 with an f3.5 Xenar (similar to the Tessar), sold
it to buy the Sonnar version, sold it, bought my Xenar version back,
have been happy with it ever since... (the Sonnar tests sharper,
especially in the corners, but images lacked the snap of the
Tessar-type lens, and actually looked less sharp in prints and
slides than the Xenar does - a case of contrast winning over
resolution for appearance of sharpness, I guess.....). BTW,
having owned several Rollei 35's, I prefer the match-needle
versions to the LED version, and AVOID the Rollei 35 LED with
the terrible Triotar!
