It is an effect of differences in TV imaging and PC-monitor
imaging, and whether or not the preview window is full-size,
and being provided by software or hardware.
Lighten/reduce-contrast on the monitor while editing to
reduce one of the problems; the Raptor card provides
hardware previewing, which improves the preview sharpness
when used with a converter box or camera (and also provides
a TV-out).
