You will almost immediately run into wedding situations
where the TRV950 will be inadequate due to its limited
low light range (some churches are VERY dark, as are
evening garden parties, "atmospheric" candle-lit dinners,
etc.). You will use every bit of the VX2000 low-light
capability (and more, as you follow guests out to unlighted
porches, driveways, etc.). No contest, for this type of
work - and on-camera lights are annoying to guests...
As for learning them, they are similar in the range of
controls for basic use - though the 2000 offers some extra
controls that can be of use in unusual situations (or for
improving results generally...).
