The TRV900 has been replaced by the TRV950, a
quite different camera the characteristics of which are
generally unknown (rumor has it that the bright-light
picture is excellent, but low-light range is limited);
the Panasonic cameras appear to have good sound,
but to also show red bias, and they appear to show
problems (in common with the GL-1) with good rendering
of near vertical lines in the image, and they also have
low-light range limitations; the VX2000 has an excellent
picture (sharp, neutral-colored, relatively free of
artifacting), excellent auto-control biasing controls,
excellent automatic controls (including AF and AE),
good sound, and excellent low-light range. Reliability
and consistency also appears to be good with the VX2000,
though I think the XL-1 sound is better (and that the
VX2000 sound is good enough...). For more, you may find
