No, since I have not compared them side-by-side...
It is likely that the Sony picture and sound are better
(but mebbe not, if you really are into long lenses...;-),
but you may prefer the Canon form/controls/VF, etc.
enough to swing you the other way... Who knows? I know
which I would likely buy, but that doesn't answer your
question...;-) If size is not important, and if the
price is comparable to the TRV18, I would look at the
D8 TRV740, with its excellent picture. BTW, also look
at prices at B&H, an excellent "no-nonsense" dealer
which may have lower prices and be tax-free, with only
a small shipping charge - and they have a good 7-day
return policy (check out the camera thoroughly in
time to find defects, if any, for refund/exchange...).
