The color isn't great - I prefer to EQ the TRV-9 color image while
copying... (I like it for B&W video, though, especially in IR
mode...;-) The lens is sharp, but the image quality isn't very
close to the 3-chip models. BTW, the TRV-900 progressive-scan
stills are MUCH better, since both fields are used (and the color
is better, too).

Very similar, but the 7 has a bigger (often useless...) fold-out
viewing screen, and no analogue inputs...

Dunno... if you are going to edit or copy tapes, DV is the way to go. If not,
Hi-8 can be fine (and a noticeable improvement over VHS...).
(BTW, I may still have a Sony Hi-8 camcorder to sell...)
