Hi--- Because the film is overrated at 200, let alone 400, 800, or 1600.
It may be fun to believe in magic (or Kodak press releases), but TMY
is a very contrasty (read, "no shadow detail" - where true film speed is)
film. Efforts to slow it down to gain shadow detail are not rewarding -
efforts to speed it up can only make it even higher in contrast. The
film has a very straight-line exposure-density curve that makes it useful
for a few specialized purposes (and it can be under exposed to the point where shadow blacks are lost in the print without changing highlight or shadow contrast much), but really normal looking prints are difficult to make from this film, so why bother?
