Hmmm, you forgot the TC14, though it is the AI (not AIS) version of
the TC14B, and otherwise identical, so you can be forgiven...;-)

>From what I know the TC-14a is for short lens, not too good.

Huh?!? This converter is about as good as they get! Try it on an 8mm
or 16mm fisheye for a wonderful, unique lens. Works well on virtually
all (good) Nikkors 200mm and under... It is a great assist in macro
work, also, and it can sharply (and very compactly) lengthen zooms
like the 70-210E and 80-200mm f4.

>The TC-14b is the 1.4x for 200/2 and longer, suppost to be nice and
>sharp, and not cheap!!!!

Yes. Though the optically identical TC14 is often surprisingly cheap,
used (I bought my last one for $100, near mint :-).

>The TC-14c came with the 300/2, yea I said the 300mm F2.0. It was
>made in the mid 80's and sold for about $12G. This TC **ONLY** came

The TC14C is the best of the 1.4X's for virtually all lenses it will
fit (the only exception I have found is the older 500mm f8, which is
better (and very good!) on the TC14/14B (guess where that TC14 went
that I bought cheap...;-). The TC14C is wonderful on the 80-200mm
f2.8 AF and the long, fast EDIF tele's. The TC14C can sometimes be
found as spare after 300mm f2's have been converted for movie camera
use....

>and what is the TC-14e? Is this a AF TC for the 300/2.8, 400/2.8,
>500/4 and 600/4? If my impression is correct about this TC, will it

I think they will fit only the AFI teles, but I am not sure.

>Are there some 1.4x TC's that I don't know about?

I think we covered the Nikkors....
Hope This Helps
