And the earlier 300mm f2's came with the REALLY excellent TC14C
converter (I am the lucky owner of one, and it outperforms the
excellent TC14/14B somewhat at the edges and corners at wide
apertures with all lenses I have tried with both [with the
exception of the older-style 500mm f8 Nikkor mirror, which
for some reason is better {and very good! ;-} on the TC14/14B]).
