It should not be assumed that a lens with "bad bokeh" is
worse than one with good, and the other way around...;-)
BTW, see the "sun-plant" photos at:
www.David-Ruether-Photography.com/sunplant1.html - I use the effect
you describe, and one rarely used, the appearance of subject
shadows in the out-of-focus light spots (in stills), but
"bad bokeh" is necessary to make some of these images...
