The 283-5 Vivitars are nice flashes for low prices, if TTL flash
exposure is not needed. They do not cover 24mm well without
additional accessories, and I seem to remember that neither
will swivel, so my medium-sized-Styrofoam-cup-popped-over-the-end-
of-the-upturned-flash-head technique does not work for vertical
photos as well as it does with a flash that will both swivel and
tilt (which allows the light source [the cup] to be positioned
above the lens in both vertical and horizontal photos).
