Spark 2 is supposed to be able to capture large files by renaming
2-gig chunks on the fly, but I haven't tried that. I generally
capture under 2-gig chunks manually for raw material to edit
with (just making sure I have all the material I want captured,
along with the junk...;-).

No problem. With Spark 2, you can seamlessly output
multiple files from multiple drives for a very long video.
(Premiere 4.2 used to edit...) I add one extra frame of
sound/video from each AVI file tail to each file head
for perfect joins with Spark ver. 2 software (with my
gear - this may vary with different hard/software...).

I used to do it (with problems...) with DV-Deck, but the
Spark 2 software assembles multiple AVI files very well.
I have put 40 minutes to tape in one pass from the computer
without problems, and (I trust!!!) I will be putting one
hour of edited video out to mini-DV tape later today...
