We have used the DPS Spark and Spark Plus cards in several
computers. If you know what you are doing, and what hardware
and Spark software versions are compatible with these cards,
they work well - but they are not easy to install. BTW, since
you do not need SCSI drives for Mini-DV work, and
since the SCSI part of the Plus occupies an IRQ even if it
is not used, it is generally preferable to choose the plain
Spark. If money is not an issue, the Canopus Raptor is
easier to use and has a few advantages, but you may wind up
spending noticeably more supplying desireable peripherals
for the Raptor. I have used both, and like both cards.
