For only a few hundred more, the Sony VX-2000 is a better
camera in just about every way... - and the Sony TRV-900,
for less money than the GL-1, is a better camera for most
purposes (but not all...). All are reviewed critically,
with frame-grabs, and descriptions of the motion-video
characteristics and sound characteristics, at:

BTW, if you want to try a one-chipper with picture and sound
superior to the GL-1 in most (but not all...) conditions
(and a very noticeably lower price), take a look at the Sony
PC100/PC110/TRV20/TRV-30 models. I guess excellent
Canon advertising leads people first to Canon - but in terms of
what you get for the money, I generally prefer Sony...
