The time-indicators are not accurate, in my experience...
The M50 should provide at least an hour's recording time
(it is the same physical size as the M30), and the M70
should give you the 2.5 hours (the battery is twice as
thick as the M30). BTW, avoid "off-brand" batteries that
are suspiciously lighter than the Sony original - I tried
a silver one the size of the M70, but it lasted only about
as long as the M50 (about the same weight...).
