Hmmmmmmm..... Two things come to me feeble mind, one is that the
data rate for mini-DV is a constant 3.6 MB/sec (which is easily
handled by the newer UDMA drives anywhere on the drive so long
as the drive is not fragmented), and the other is that the Sony
VAIO comes with only one drive for both programs and
DV-capture/play (which is going to result in problems unless
the drive is partitioned - and mini-DV capture/play would be
more reliable if there were a separate dedicated drive[s] for
video). I think Sony cut one corner too many by not having
two drives on the VAIO...
