The two Sony tape types perform identically, for
all practical purposes, though for long-term
storage, I might prefer "Ex" (though I am
without specific information about why...;-)
The chip allows for keeping track of more (probably
irrelevant) stuff - save your money and buy the
same tape without the chip, or the cheaper "Pr".
