You would be starting with a fairly low resolution image, so I would
not expect much (on a video monitor, well-Snappied images may hold
up to about 320x240 pixels at best from good VHS - even Hi-8 won't
look good much larger. If you make prints (the Epson Stylus Color
printer output looks suprisingly good), images much larger than about
1.5x2 inches will begin to look soft. If you are shooting a still
subject with a Hi-8 camera hooked directly to the Snappy (without
using tape), the Snappy can average up to 4 frames (8 fields) and
give a 1500x1125 pixel image of good quality (looks better with
an evenly divided pixel count [like 1/2, 1/3, etc.] to make a
smaller image). I have used this for making good copies of slides
for screen use. The photo CD or a scanned photo will both look
better, I think, though I still use and like my Snappy. For sample
photos at about the highest quality you can get, go to www.play.com
then to "Snappy", then to "See Snappy Pictures" (though you will not
be able to equal these results using a VHS camera).
Hope This Helps
