Yes, the "clap" does work well, and it is more accurate
with widely-spaced mics (sometimes mine are 50-60' + away
from the cameras) than visual clues, given time delays
with distance - but often a flash works well, too (I used
this for the 4-camera synching I did yesterday), as does
just matching up events in the audio tracks visually after
a rough synch from listening, with fine-tuning by sliding
tracks a frame at a time to minimize audible "reverb"
effects...
