The SB-24 has a PC socket, in addition to the (TTL) hot shoe and
separate TTL socket. You need only a way to hold the flash - be sure
to slip an insulator in a metal shoe before putting the flash on the shoe, or the contacts on the flash will short out. BTW, the extra
TTL socket on the flash can be used to fire a second Nikon flash
if you have the thin Nikon cable designed to fit these sockets (though
I would recommend setting no more than one flash on "auto", use the
other(s) on manual to avoid undesireable interactions).
