Hmmm, mixing systems..., how disloyal to one of them....;-)
Yes, the SB-24 is an excellent manual or auto mode flash.
I would consider placing it on a flash bracket instead of
the Canon hot shoe, and firing with a PC cord to avoid any
potential problem with unintentional TTL contact interaction.
BTW, the Nikon SB-24 has a soft roll-off of illumination at
the edge of its coverage, making it excellent for directing
or shading light to get illumination where you want it, but
not where you don't (it can light a large room evenly with
the head raised some, and you can shade-down nearby side
subjects with some rotation - amazing flash!) 'Course, you
will lose the wonderful selectable TTL fill-ratio, but you
can still approximate it in M and A modes....
