Why non-Nikon? The SB15 is tiny, tilts every-which-way (including
down [great for macro] and up-side-down [great for getting the flash above the lens with verticals]), reasonably powerful, and cheap used.
How can you beat it? BTW, I recommend using a cp05Y filter on pre-AF
Nikon flashes to bring the color to neutral.
