Maybe the best (if you don't need maximum power) for the FE/FA
series cameras was the SB-15 Nikon flash... It is flat, folds to fit within
the foot-print of the body and small lens, and folds to place the
light source above the lens for both horizontal and vertical camera
orientation. It's flash tube also tilts up for bounce (though the
power may be too limited for this), down for close-focus. A WA
panel snaps on to cover 28mm (and to hold the cc05Y filter I like
to use with early Nikon flashes). It is compact, for easy packing.
