I found that I prefer the Rollei 35's with the Xenar and Tessar
lenses, and the ones with the match-needle meters rather than the
LED versions (crisper-looking image, though lower resolution in
the corners, than the Sonnar; and the M-N metering is wider range
and is easier to use waist-level than the eye-level LED [with the
tiny camera controls]). The guess-focus has always proved accurate
for me (down to 4' or so, even at wide stops). BTW, I remember that
soon after the Rollei 35 came out, Consumer Reports included it in
a survey of compact cameras, and even did a side-bar on it, telling
why they thought it was a poor buy...;-)
