I find that Reala is great at ASA 64, and 50 is close enough. It can
open up shadow areas like few other films, even the supposedly low-contrast
VPS. Another film that can really open up shadows is (or was - it has been
replaced) the PPC version of Ektapress 1600 exposed around 250-500 ASA.
There appears to be no, ah, negative effect from overexposing many
negative color emulsions, aside from the loss of (possibly useful) speed
- and there can be some advantages, like more open shadows and finer grain.
