This render time is far more than it should be - with a 3-4
second P-6 original transition, with your computer, I would
expect render times to be generally well under 20 seconds...
Check settings.

Press the "alt" key while scrubbing; look at the preview
boxes in the transition control window while moving the
slider; possibly by selecting "preview to RAM" (your RAM
amount, BTW, is FAR more than Premiere needs - 256 megs
is about all, normally...).
